Our Shed

We are a modern version of the traditional backyard shed that has long been part of Australian culture. The shed provides wood working and metal working areas equipped with top of the art machinery and facilities. We also have a recreational room with a fully fitted out kitchen. We seek to provide an environment for men to meet together to participate in practical projects, learn new skills and socialise with other likeminded men.

What we do

The Dunsborough Men's Community Shed is a not for profit organisation which aims to:
  • Provide a wood and metal workshop space for participants of all ages for projects that can benefit both themselves and the community
  • Link participants to services and support structures to enhance their health and well-being
  • Foster, maintain and expand participant’s social and educational networks
  • Support women in the community by offering access to the Shed to pursue their interest in wood & metal work and gain independent living skills and connect socially

Our Members

Our current membership is around 110 and members come from all segments of our community. Some have disabilities physical or mental. Some struggle at times with what life throws at them, while others just can’t wait to begin something new and challenging. What they all have in common is life experiences to share with each other. The shed is a place of welcoming and respect and where belonging matters.
